For those of you wondering why I haven't yet posted an entry to serve as an obituary for Tommy Lasorda:
It's not because I didn't like him -- although I didn't. I didn't like Kobe Bryant, either, and that was before he got away with a heinous crime. Lasorda's life is a story worth telling, regardless of my personal feelings.
It's not because he wasn't big enough of a figure. He was.
It's not because it's been a long time since he was relevant. That fact is not relevant.
It's because my computer issues have continued into this New Year, making it hard to write any entry at all.
I now have reason to believe that I will be able to start again tomorrow afternoon. Whenever I can, my priority will be to write tributes for major sports figures who have died since the move: Paolo Rossi, K.C. Jones, Phil Niekro, and now Lasorda. Due to his place in Yankee history, I might also include Phil Linz.
And on January 20, when our long national nightmare will be over, I will post a tribute to the people we've lost since said nightmare began on November 8, 2016. It will be long.
I thank you for your patience, and I ask you for just a little bit more of it.
